Japanese Garden
+ Koi Pond

For almost two decades the Japanese Garden was in process … envisioned, planned, and painstakingly created under the expert guidance of Hoichi Kurisu (pictured below), a master designer of Japanese gardens.

A garden in the Japanese style is intended to offer peace and quiet contemplation … with restraint, order, harmony, and decorum as the guiding design principles. It is an expression of love for living things, acceptance of the transience of nature reflected in the changing seasons, and an inspired vision of the eternal.

While enjoying the Japanese Garden, please:

  • Stay on the pathways and do not go into the water.
  • Feed the fish from the bridge only, with fish food purchased from the Gardens Gift Shop.
  • Stay off the rocks and do not move or throw them.
  • Respect the serenity of the garden and others around you.

Thank you! And ... come back often!

WITH APPRECIATION:

  • Thank you to Barb Bishop and the Japanese Garden Team for the care and maintenance of the Japanese Garden and Koi Pond.
