WINTER

Things to Do
  • Venture onto our beautiful snow-covered grounds with your snowshoes or cross-country skis. You'll get some great exercise!
  • Catch glimpses of our feathered friends. The bird feeders behind the Heinemann Visitor Center are regularly stocked.
  • Get outside and capture family or nature photos. Our snow-covered landscape provides a perfect setting + backdrop.
Things to See
  • While everything is often snow-covered and no flowers are blooming, the grounds are a beautiful place to hike and search for wildlife tracks in the snow.

SPRING

Things to Do
  • Hike the grounds. You'll find early-blooming flowers peeking through the ground announcing the start of a new season.
  • Capture amazing photos with colorful backdrops of blooming trees or a field of daffodils.
  • Search for hibernating creatures that are starting to stir, like bees and chipmunks.
  • Attend our fun, family-friendly spring events:

  • With the beginning of the blooming boom, you'll see: wildflowers, daffodils, magnolias, rhododendrons, crab apples, redbud trees, azaleas, lilacs, peonies, iris, and so much more!

SUMMER

Things to Do
  • Rent one of our facilities for a birthday party, picnic, or family reception.
  • Bring the kids out and hike Legacy Tree Trail. Read the StoryWalk on your hike.
  • Follow up your hike with a trip to the Children's Playground.
  • Then head over to the koi pond. Don’t forget to stop in The Gardens Gift Shop to pick up some koi fish food. $1
  • In 2025, join us for some stellar live music in a variety of genres: June 1 @ 6p, June 15 @ 6p, July 20 @ 6p, August 3 @ 6p, August 17 @ 6p, and September 14 @ 5p.
  • No Admission Fee: freewill donations at intermission.

  • Find a shaded spot on the grounds, relax, meditate, and enjoy the sounds of relaxing water features around you.
Things to See
  • Summer is the time for full color on the grounds. During your visit, you'll see a variety of flowers: roses, lilies, dahlias, annuals, clematis, lupine, daisies, coneflowers, hydrangeas, yucca, balloon flowers, hibiscus, and so much more!

FALL

Things to Do
  • With the cooler temps starting to set in, fall is a perfect time to get outdoors and enjoy the summer colors as they transition to fall and begin to flow throughout the grounds.
  • Take a tour. If you didn’t take the time to get a no-cost tour during the summer season, fall is the perfect time.
  • Enjoy the Art! You may be surprised to learn that our grounds are filled with beautiful pieces of art. Your creative side will love our imaginative and garden-inspired art.
  • You'll find that our grounds offer the perfect place to enjoy cooling fall days that still feel like summer.
  • Consider firing up the grills for a family-and-friends gathering at the Children's Playground! Learn more and consider renting the Playground Pavilion.
  • Remember your phone OR grab your camera. You're sure to discover a multitude of opportunities to capture beautiful life moments with fall-colored backgrounds.
Things to See
  • As we move toward the colder months, the trees begin to show their true fall colors ranging from brilliant red to deep orange to bright yellow foliage.
  • The grounds still have lingering summer flowers, but the fall perennials are at full strength. Plants blooming during this time: mums, asters, daises, toad lilies, foxgloves, blanket flowers, and many more!
